Not Quite a Snowpocalypse

How many of you have ever been in a blizzard?  I'm talking about a REAL blizzard, roads impassible, snow drifting places you didn't think possible, I'm talking about constant sustained white-out conditions here.
Open your front door and its your new beer cooler, get a fire going and burn what ever you can cause you're in it for the long haul-type conditions out there.  That's what you'd be led to believe was going on today, but that doesn't really seem so. (Unless you're in Grand Rapids, then you might just be having a day like that today, can I get a confirmation on that?)
In the meanwhile up here at the 45th parallel, it's a fairly normal winter day.  I will say that I saw a few vehicles in the ditch last night.  Jacked-up Ford F-150 with the off road lights on the front bumper, I'm talking to you, did you just not see where the road was or something?  Seriously, you were like 60 feet off in to that field.  I was pretty astounded by that.
Moving on, I recently discovered a pretty neato iPhone app for all you photographers out there, It's called CCD https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ccd/id522052747?mt=8  It's a bare-bones camera app that saves your pictures in TIFF format, and there is a night and day difference between these pictures and the built-in camera app.  Even when compared to Camera+ or Camera Awesome, there's just more detail in your shadows and highlights, approaching HDR levels.  Do yourself a favor and check it out!  Note, there's no in-app processing or really any settings of any sort, and your images will be about 10MB a piece.(iPhone 4s Camera)
Have a great weekend everyone, and stay safe out there!
