Today I'm asking myself why I didn't just go snowboarding instead of jumping around in the back yard, but I did manage to get some more homework done and had quite an adventure with a snow blower. I also accomplished a good deed, on my way out to Torch Lake I was following this small to mid-sized SUV through the blizzardous conditions at the northern end of M-88 and was astounded as I watched the vehicle slowly turn more and more sideways around a corner and crash with a large puff of snow right into the bank on the opposite side of the road.
Driving a 4WD SUV myself and always carrying my trusty tow strap in case the unexpected happens, I slowly and carefully approached and after checking to make sure the driver was ok (aside from being obviously shaken) I hooked up and gave a little tug and freed the SUV from the icy clutches of Old Man Winter's most experienced trap (The Ditch.) We both continued on our ways and there was much rejoicing.
The moral of the story, take it slow on ice and snow, and also be prepared!

Awesome! It's so surreal to witness that! I saw a driver in front of me do basically the same thing. I knew what was coming, so I got on my phone & called 911 right away. The car I saw flipped over. It was just unreal.
ReplyDeleteBtw, there's nothing more innocent & pure than a good rough & tumble in the snow!! ※ ;)
